The leather
Full-grain is the outermost layer of the hide, taken with the grain intact — the surface you touch is the surface the animal wore.
Cut and finished by hand. Substantial enough to hold its own shape, uneven in the way a natural material is, and lined in cotton throughout.
It deepens in color and softens with use, taking on a patina particular to the way you carry it — the handles first, then the corners, then everywhere it has been.
